I received the Stewart L. Udall Award of the Western National Parks Association in November 2018. Stewart L. Udall Award honors those who work to boost park interpretation programs, carry the park message to popular audiences, or rally broad public support for parks. Udall awardees may include authors, poets, artists, photographers, writers, publishers, and others who are inspirational conservationists. The Udall Award was named for the noted conservationist, Secretary of the Interior (1961–1969), and former WNPA (Western National Parks Association) board member (1984–1994).

2017-2019 Two-year Grant of the National Endowment for the Arts

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in Weatherford provided matching grant $10,000 in 2017. This was one of the key elements that helped me to receive $10,000 grant of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support Touch and See Your Park, a series of events to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Washita River Massacre between 2017 and 2019.

Principal investigator: Dr. Siriporn Peters, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the Department of Art, Communication & Theatre, SWOSU.

Southern Cheyenne artist George Levi used ledger art, a traditional Native American art form, to create drawings interpreting the battle, as well as presented a lecture on this art form. 19 ledger drawings were transformed into tactile graphics with braille, motion graphics and audio so visually impaired people could enjoy the items. A catalogue for the exhibit were created.
